Thanksgiving in Virginia 2008

About 15 minutes into our trip this duo was "out like a light." Ollie is quite the world traveler and does a great job. However, he is quite partial to the front seat!

We had to make a quick stop in Louisville so I could stop at Old Time Pottery and buy some hostess gifts (love that place!). Paul and the kids went next door to Bass Pro Shops.

Our wonderful host and hostess! They kept us full with delicious food and we had a wonderful time! Thank you Philip and Margaret! Come see us soon so we can return the hospitality!

Here are the cousins from oldest to youngest...Hallie P. (12 3/4), Zack P. (11), Annaliese E. (10), Andrew E. (8), Brock P. (7), Kirsten E. (6), Nate E. (4), Carlie P. (4), Kate E. (2).

Here are proud grandparents with their 9 people grandchildren and 1 granddog. (There is another granddog that is missing, Liz's Maggie).

We had a lot of fun doing a live broadcast from justin.tv.com. We set it up for Liz since she couldn't be with us (and we missed her!). However, we also were able to share it with several other relatives and friends and it was crazy!

We were happy that one of Paul's doctoral students and wife were able to join us for Thanksgiving Day since they live in Maryland. Unfortunately, on their way to see us a deer ran out in front of them and did some damage to their car!

Of course there were a lot of Domino games!

We went ice skating one day. It was a first for Brock and Carlie and everyone had a great time.

Carlie and Nate are two peas in a pod! They have such a great time together and there is always a lot of laughing!

Annaliese celebrated her 10th birthday while we were there. She had a special breakfast out with Philip, Paul, and Hallie. Then in the afternoon she, Hallie, and three friends got their nails done at a salon, and then we all ate at Golden Corral since it was the restaurant of Annaliese's choice. Happy Birthday, Annaliese!

After eating supper together Dad and Mom headed back to Florida and we headed for Indiana. Dad and Mom ran into an insane amount of traffic on I-95 and got home a lot later than they had planned. We ended up driving home all night and made it home in 10 hours. It was a terrific vacation and it's always great to be with family for the holidays!
