An update (because it's been almost two months!)

This update is for my mother-in-law who is really tired of clicking on this blog and seeing pictures of snow! There is definitely no more snow here in Indiana, in fact, I can look out my window and see forsythia, daffodils, Bradford pear trees and a lot of other colorful things in full bloom!! We're still having "jacket" weather for the most part but the winter coats are back in the closet and it would take a blizzard for us to get them back out! We definitely still have a chance for cold weather but we will be optimistic that it's gone until next winter. Spring has arrived and it's as beautiful as ever. (Sorry I don't have any pictures of it yet)

We had a wonderful time in Florida for Spring Break although it flew by so quickly. It's hard to believe we've been back "in the swing of things" for a whole week already. As always I have hundreds of pictures to share but as always who knows when I will get them on here! We did enjoy a day at Disney World and Epcot thanks to a good friend of ours. The six of us got in for free and I would have to say that is the best way to enjoy it :-) The weather was perfect and the crowds were tolerable so it was fun to take Carlie there for her first time. She rode Goofy's roller coaster three times and the look on her face during the ride was priceless...intense fear and pure exhiliration! Ollie even survived the day in the great care of the Epcot kennel. It was a wonderful way to end our Spring Break.

Since returning home Zack has had one basketball practice and one game (they are 7-0!), painted a stained-glass window for his medieval history project, and gone to the IU Art Museum for a field trip. Hallie had her basketball banquet to end the season, and is currently working on a Shakespeare project for social studies and a project on the amphibious creature "siren" for science. She'll start track and field practices on Monday and can't wait for the high jump and hurdles (the two events that I would choose NOT to do because they scare me!). Brock's class is doing a project on seashells (his teacher was in Florida for Spring Break too!) and he had a whole bag of them to add to the class's collection. He's looking forward to baseball practice that starts in a week. Carlie has just been trying to keep up with everyone and she does so with a lot of animation, hugs and "I Love You's".

Today the three oldest are wearing purple to school in support of one of our high school basketball teams that will be playing in the state tournament tomorrow night. In fact the whole town is supposed to be wearing a lot of purple today. However, yesterday it was IU red and white for Paul, Hallie, and Zack. The three of them left on one of two charter buses that headed over to Bowling Green, Ohio (where we used to live) in support of the women's basketball team that is advancing in their tournament. Paul's main reason for going was to see his good friend, Ray, that he used to work with but it ended up being a really fun experience for all of them. The trip takes five hours each way so the three of them didn't get in their own beds till 3:00am! I have a feeling Hallie and Zack will be taking a nap after school!

Well, that's about it for now. It's a lot more info than I'm used to giving but I hope it will be a decent update until I can get back into more of a consistent pattern. And, as I heard Goofy say about a hundred times over the speaker while waiting in line at Disney...."TTFN, ta-ta for now!"
