I was in the mood to catch up on some pictures and after being at it for about 20 minutes I've already lost the motivation. However, I'm going to try to stick with it and at least get through the months of August and September! We had three different visits by family members and we really appreciated them making the effort to come see us so I want to get those pictures on here as a way to thank them.
The first visit was from Liz. She came to help the children have some last-minute summer fun before the school year started. When she lived in Indianapolis, she enjoyed attending the Indiana State Fair so we went right from the airport to the fair. It was "IU Day" at the fair so we got a lot of freebies including bags to put all the stuff in. You HAVE to have fair food so we tried several favorites but no deep fried Twinkies or deep fried Oreos for us! Thankfully it was a beautiful day because sometimes August can be really hot. We had a lot of fun.
And let me just tell you a little bit about my sister, in case you didn't already know. She is the most giving, sweet, kind, unselfish, loving, smart, gracious, etc. sister you will ever find. (Not to mention that she can entertain like nobody's business, decorate better than Martha, cook as good as Emeril, be a huge help to church ministry, and the list goes on). [She's single and available too...some guy is really going to win the jackpot one of these days!] Soooooo, when we found out Liz was coming to visit, Paul and I asked her if she would mind if we spent a couple nights in Louisville just as a little get-away. Of course she said yes and I know for a fact that she actually enjoys spending that time alone with the kids. And, of course, they love it too because she spoils them rotten!
So, Paul and I had a very relaxing, refreshing couple of days just getting away to do some sightseeing on our own. One bonus of going to Louisville was the chance to meet up with Julie (Tilley) Vick and her husband Kent. Julie and I have been friends for a very long time and she is such a great friend. We don't get to spend very much time together but when we are together it is just like old times and better! She is a really fantastic person and we enjoyed getting to know Kent better and he's great too! Thanks for dinner, you two! And thanks, Liz, once again for giving Paul and me some valuable time together. We are so grateful!
Here is the SHUTTERFLY LINK for the rest of the pictures. I did put a few captions on but I may not bother next time because I noticed that if you watch the slideshow they don't even show up!
